An early 18th century unmarked silver-gilt Sealing Wax, or Bodkin, Case.
An unmarked silver Bodkin or Sealing Wax Case, probably English, with remnants of gilding, the hinged top with engraved button catch, circa 1700. The top of the case is applied with an amatory ‘Essex crystal” with Cupid holding a crown above a heart and with a motto above [part illegible] ‘c’est pour sa….’
Good overall but with some wear to the gilding, minor surface bruising and the line of the seam in the body showing but not apart.
