An early 18th century silver Mote Spoon.
An early 18th century silver-gilt Mote Spoon, circa 1725, struck with a maker’s mark ‘IC’, the bowl engraved on both sides.
The maker ‘IC’ has not been identified because there are a number of possible makers using these initials. The spoon was almost certainly made in London and is an interesting example with engraved ornamentation around the piercing.
