A William IV silver Snuffbox, the lid inset with a classical naval battle scene in relief, Birmingham, circa 1835, by Joseph Wilmore – the maker’s mark struck twice, once apparently over the date letter. In the centre of the engine-turned base of the box a plain rectangular cartouche is engraved with a presentation inscrition: ‘W.H.W. to J.G. 28, June 1837’.
