A late 17th century small silver Box with pull-off lid, fully hallmarked London 1689, the maker’s mark is ‘R?’ The lid is engraved with a stylised plant head. The box is typical of the small, quite crudely made, little silver boxes made in London in this period: many of which are unmarked or maker’s mark only.
