A Victorian unmarked silver miniature or photograph frame in the form of a horseshoe, inscribed above ‘Miss Batty 1871.’ The frame contains a lock of horse hair from a mane or tail.
Miss Batty was a Racehorse, sired by The Hydra out of Muley Mare in 1845 and owned by Viscount Newport [later the 3rd Earl of Bradford].
