A Victorian silver mounted funnel or trumpet-shaped shallow-ribbed glass Decanter with an angular hinged top with inset cork, by Heath and Middleton for Hukin and Heath, Birmingham 1892. Tihs company, well known for having employed Dr. Christopher Dresser for a period from 1879 as a designer, manufactured intriguing and unusual pieces in silver and silver-plate, often combined with glass or Coalport pottery, from their inception in 1855, supplying a number of different retailers.
