A Victorian silver-gilt Candlestick for Travelling.
A Victorian silver-gilt Travelling Candlestick, London 1883, Walter Thornhill, with spring-loading for the candle and hinged spikes for attachment to a carriage upholstered interior. The cap is applied with contemporary initials ‘MTA.’
Good. Very minor markings to the gilding. A little care needs to be taken when removing the outer cap in order to avoid the retaining cover at the top of the candle tube from springing off.
