A Victorian silver Cheroot Case.
A Victorian silver Cheroot Case with gilt interior, Birmingham 1866, by George Unite, the case engraved with strapwork decoration framing a coat of arms for a member of the family of Dawson and on the reverse script initials ‘ GJCD.’ The civil engineer, George James Crosbie Dawson, was born in Liverpool in 1814, dying in Stoke-on-Trent in 1914.
