A Victorian novelty Scottish silver Thistle Vinaigrette.
A Victorian novelty silver Vinaigrette in the form of a thistle, the lid engraved ‘Dinna Forget’, struck with a maker’s mark only for Lewis and Alexander of Edinburgh, circa 1883. Engraved also with a registered design lozenge. These makers, who registered their mark in 1873, were at 3, E. Register Street in Edinburgh and specialised in novelties in a ‘thistle’ shape.
