A trick-opening Victorian silver Vesta Case.
A Victorian square silver Vesta Case, the drawer of which opens on all four sides, London 1888, by Thomas Johnson. The top is slightly later engraved with a date for 27th February 1893. Engraved on one edge with the retailer’s name – ‘J. H. Werner, Berlin.’
Good. The opening mechanism has minor wear. The maker’s mark on the exterior is poorly struck but is clear on the interior.
