A late 19th century French silver Scoop with long wooden handle, by Edgar Morgan of Nice and Paris. The scoop engraved: ‘Carnaval Nice 1896.’
The purpose of this scoop, perhaps for confetti or for sweets, is uncertain.
The Carnival in Nice originated in the medieval period but was renewed in 1873.
