A Scottish provincial silver Wine label.
A crescent-shaped Wine Label, engraved for ‘Port’, with a bright-cut border, circa 1790, struck with a maker’s mark only ‘JA’ – probably John Allan of Aberdeen.
Description
Condition:
Good but with a hole through the maker’s mark where the engraved title has cut through.
Dimensions:
Length – 4.40 cm.; Height – 2.50 cm.; Weight – 7 gms.
