A pair of Scottish silver novelty Catridge Peppers.
A pair of Scottish novelty silver Pepper pots in the form of Shot Gun Cartridges, Edinburgh 1913, by Hamilton and Inches, in an original red morocco case, the interior with the Hamilton & Inches name. One pepper is of plain frosted silver with a burnished gilt base and the other is of frosted copper-coloured gilt with a frosted yellow gilt base.
Description
Condition:
The gilded surface is in exceptional condition with two tiny marks to the surfaces of the upper face of the cartridges. Some warping to the outer case.
Dimensions:
Length of the casrtridge – 6.10 cm.; Diameter – 2.20 cm.; Weight of the two cartridges together – 59.70 gms. The outer case not measured.
