A pair of George III sprung silver Asparagus Tongs, London circa 1801, by Wilkes Booth [a specialist maker of ‘sprung’ silver servers], engraved with a full coat of arms for William Trotter: born 1772; in 1826 and 1827, lord-provost of Edinburgh; he married, in 1801, his cousin, St. Clair Stuart, daughter of Robert Knox, Esq., physician, London.
