A novelty silver Propelling pencil holder by Sampson Mordan in the form of a Beadle’s Staff.
A silver double Propelling pencil Holder, by Sampson Mordan and Co., London 1927, in the form of the Beadle’s staff of the Merchant Taylors’ Company of the City of London. Engraved on the shaft of the staff: ‘Merchant Taylors’ Company 1327-1927′. The two pull-out propelling pencils, Mordan Everpoints, form the head and tip of the staff.
Gilding to head and tip of the staff and the pencil stems, some gilding remaining on the bands.
Good with minor wear to the gilding.
