A mid-18th century English silver Travelling Inkwell.

A George III silver mounted Travelling Inkwell, with inner glass bottle, circa 1760, engraved ‘And. Hunter Fecit London ‘. The lid is engraved with a script capital ‘L’ below an earl’s coronet.
Andrew Hunter of Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, described as a jeweller, died in 1764. Bankrupt in 1762, he is listed as a gold-worker in Kent’s Directory of 1759 and had voted in the 1749 Westminster election when living in Greek Street, Soho.
