A late Victorian gold Propelling Pencil combination by Sampson Mordan.
A late Victorian Sampson Mordan combined double Propelling Pencil, Ruler, with Penknives, circa 1890. The tubular section of the pencil is struck with the maker’s name ‘S. Mordan & Co.’ and the company’s arrow mark for 10 carat gold. The slider is applied with red enamel for the left side and blue for the right side and the side of the pencil is engraved on one side with a three inch ruler and on the other side with a family crest. Two knife blades of differing sizes hinge from the side.
Good with minor marking to the steel blades.
