A good parcel-gilt silver Victorian Cheroot Case and Vesta in the aesthetic style.
A Victorian combined Cheroot Case and Vesta, engraved and parcel-gilt in the Aesthetic manner with a bird on flowering foliage on one side, and flowers and a lily pond within a scrolled border, a dragonfly above, on the other. The ends, hinged above applied engraved and gilt bands, open for the cheroot holder at one end and the Vesta with hinged interior striking plate, at the other. Made by Henry William Dee, London 1877. Engraved also with the retailer’s name: ‘JONES, 41, St. James’s St. London. & 23, Bt. Des Capucines Paris.’ The interior gilt.

Good and crisp with minor wear to the gilding. Signs of a minor bruise to the lower right below the engraved bird.
