A George III Snuffbox formed from a silver-mounted cowrie shell.
A George III silver mounted cowrie shell Snuffbox, London 1796, by Phipps and Robinson. The interior of the silver mount is gilt. The exterior of the lid is engraved with an original owner’s crest and script initials ‘EJ’.

Good. Some surface marking to the gilt interior of the lid.
