A George III silver-mounted Punch Ladle for a Drinking Club.

A late eighteenth century silver-mounted Punch ladle, the wooden handle with a silver plaque engraved ‘Good Fellows’ above a radiant Sun, the nut bowl with silver mount, struck with a maker’s mark only, ‘I.P.’ for James Phipps, London, circa 1770. The ladle evidently belonged to one of the many 18th century Drinking Clubs.
