A George III silver-gilt Snuffbox.

A George IV silver-gilt Snuffbox, Birmingham 1820, Samuel Pemberton; the interior of the lid engraved with a presentation inscription from ‘The Aldermen of Skinners Alley, In Testimony of their high regard for Public and Private Worth, and to evince their sense of his Distinguished Services: Present this tribute of Respect to His Excellency Alderman John Kingston James, their Governor.‘ The lid engraved with the arms of John Kngston James and the base with ‘Presented the first year of the Reign of His Majesty George IV ad 1820.’
John Kingston James was subsequently Lord Mayor of Dublin from 1821-2.
