A George III silver-gilt Scottish Snuffbox, Edinburgh 1820, by George Fenwick. The top of the box is applied with a chased view of a castle, perhaps Edinburgh castle, within a floral border including thistle heads. The front of the box is engraved: ‘D. Thom from his friend Kirkwood.’
