A George III silver Basket Pincushion.
A George III silver Pincushion in the form of a basket with hooped hinged handle, struck with a maker’s mark only under the handle for Joseph Taylor of Birmingham circa 1820.
Good. The velvet is evidently of the correct period but has no signs of wear – so it is impossible to be certain whether it has been replaced at some date or not. There is no wear to the silver basket.
