A George I silver Basting spoon, London 1720, by George Brydon, engraved with a contemporary armorial, for the family of Haynes impaling [marrying] Kendall or Kendel.
Description
Condition:
Good with minor surface marking. Some wear to the edge of the bowl on the left side. The marks are squeezed, although clearly legible, having been struck before the spoon was ‘finished’. The ‘G’ of the maker’s mark is not legible but the mark, [Grimwade 747], is unmistakeable.
