A George IV silver Medal, London 1824, by Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard, engraved on one side: ‘This Medal with Five Pounds, was Presented to James Russell by several Ladies and Gentlemen of Hull as a reward for his Exertions in saving a Child from Drowning August 12th 1824.’ Engraved on the reverse with a riddle ‘ Born before his Father, Begot before his Mother & took the Maidenhead of his Grandmother.‘
