A 19th century Australian silver Napkin Ring.

An Australian silver buckle Napkin Ring, H. Steiner, Adelaide, circa 1881. Engraved ‘Isabelle Dora Tyas’, who was christened in February 1881.

John Walter Tyas b 1831 Brixton, England, barrister, arrived Australia 1868. For 3 years he searched for pearl shells off coast of Western Australia and New Guinea. He went to England 1873 returning to Australia 1878 as news correspondent in Adelaide where married 1879 Jane Turner. From 1882-92, he was Registrar University of Adelaide, South Australia.
Children  born  in Adelaide: Margaret Elizabeth Tyas 1882-1976 , Bessie Tyas 1884-1975 famed opera singer, Alice Clare Tyas 1885, Isabelle Dora Tyas 1887-1961.
John Walter Tyas returned to England with family 1893, died London 1903. His father John Tyas was many years journalist of The Times London, said with family connection Manchester.’
