A 17th century German silver-gilt Toilet Box.

A 17th century unmarked silver-gilt Box, German, almost certainly Augsburg, circa 1680. The pull-off lid of the box is engraved with an Italianate view of figures in a landscape before a circular Romanesque church, the whole framed with a band of laurel leaves; the box sides engraved with festoons of fruit suspended on ribbons.
‘Michael’ scratch engraved on the base.
